Rachel Johnson, LCSW
I believe that every person is full of potential, inherent worth and deserving of compassion and acceptance. I view the therapeutic process as a partnership that cannot exist without trust, patience, and empathy. I want you to truly feel heard, seen, and understood so that we can work together to meet the goals that you want to achieve. I aim to create a safe space to openly explore how you are feeling and what changes you want to see in your life, ultimately empowering you to take the steps to manifest that change into reality. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring my approach based upon your needs. I combine aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma Focused therapy, Grief Counseling and Mindfulness to meet your specific needs.
Specialties: adolescents (12+) and adults; BIPOC, LGBTQ+, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, parent support, parents of high need/neurodivergent children, grief and loss and clinical supervision.
Other Interests: activities that challenge the mind and encourage personal growth; reading, cooking, baking, crossword puzzles, travel, and becoming a novice gardener. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters.
